The owner of the ars musica music store in Munich Sendling has been working as a certified expert for musical instruments since 2018. The basis for the recognition was 20 years of activity in the own music trade, in particular with a focus on historical musical instruments from three centuries and an examination proving knowledge of the legal basis, as well as a one-year distance learning course. Recertification is necessary every three years in order to ensure that the experts’ specialist knowledge and legal requirements in the field of expert opinions are up to date. Mr. Fritsch cleared this hurdle in September 2021 after submitting two sample reports and proof of further training and is entitled to use the certified recognition according to DIN 17024 “Expert for musical instruments” for a further three years. Our activities include appraisals of the value, condition and repair costs of musical instruments as well as valuations of entire musical estates with regard to the achievable selling price and market opportunities.
